Japanese firefighter's naga hanten 半纏 (heavier weight coat made popular in the 18th century) with sashiko 刺し子 (traditional hand stitching or quilting used as reinforcement and decoration) throughout. The coat is made from multiple layers of cotton held together with upwards of 100 stitches per square inch. Tsutsugaki 筒描 (resist dye technique) pattern application.
One side features a solid blue field. The reverse side features a geometric pattern and a large kanji center back, and untranslated kanji along the front lapel.
