Intricately made Japanese abumi (stirrups for horse riding) for a very wealthy Samurai.  Featuring silver inlaid patterns of flowers and hemp leaf fading into a filigree on the underside.  The interior section features a bright red lacquer with worn spots where the Samurai's foot would have rested.
