Uchikake (highly formal kimono) with repeating pattern of swallows and rice stalks. Tones of grey, tan and gold silk. Uchikake translates as "drape" and these garments were generally worn over kimono. They were showpieces worn by upper class samurai women. The hem is quilted with beautifully contrasting red silk.
