Extravagent brocade theater kimono with an exterior of handwoven silk brocade and an interior of indigo boro 襤褸 (a Japanese form of recycling coming from an economic necessity in which fabric is patched on the reverse side to preserve the usability). The beauty of boro comes from the unintentional artistry created from layers of mending.
The brocade features patterns of flowers and cranes, and upon close examination it is revealed that half of the fabric used for the face is inverse, one side features a blue background with gold patterns while the other features a gold background with blue pattern.
