MEISEN
Meisen is a form of stencil dyed textile where the threads, warp or weft or both are stencil dyed prior to weaving. This technique was developed in the early 20th century and was popular through the 1950s. Primarily silk, these kimono were often created with non-traditional design motifs reflecting international influences.
